I chose "My Grieving Hand" for a loss that I know is coming. When Keith Lilek says "Grieving is unique to each person and situation", I know that will be the case for me. Keith goes through the stages we all will experience. His book gave me insights of what to expect and how to relate to others in my situation. I recommend his book and will hold it close when my time of loss finally comes.
Listening to his new audio “Getting back to God” brought tears to my eyes as I reflected on our life together and what an amazing Mentor he has been throughout our life and the impact he has had on our children. He has always said our goal is to “get our children to heaven”. This CD is full of encouraging messages that can be used in anyone’s life to bring you back to your faith. Enjoy!
I read your book on Laina’s sonnets. It was truly amazing. I grew up in Gruver and was a classmate of Laina, and I have known her family for many years. This book really touched my heart, especially seeing God’s amazing work throughout the pages and the story. As a priest in Amarillo, stories like this and people like the Groteguts are what make me love my Diocese so much. Thank you for writing this! I was thankful to read your book and I am thankful to have known Laina.
I've enjoyed my time reading your stories in Mentored for Good. Each time I read one it helps me reflect on my own family situation. The sincerity is genuine. Thank you for that.
When I saw he wrote sonnets, I wanted to jump ship…I HATED Shakespeare and his sonnets. I stuck with it. Now I can say I no longer hate sonnets! His writing style is unique and engaging. More importantly, I learned a great deal from those sonnets, two of them really resonated with me: A Dad Makes All the Difference and Fall on Your Sword…You will enjoy Keith and this book.
The wisdom in this volume feels like it could be a book by John Maxwell, Matthew Kelly, or Patrick Lencioni, but with a few sonnets to convey the message or highlight it differently, it feels a little more like Dan Millman or Robin Sharma. All that is to say, it is wisdom earned by experience and shared with the best of the other at heart. And for a book about being a mentee or mentor, that is the highest praise I can give it. I can easily recommend it.
Keith Lilek is a remarkable individual who has embraced the role of a Catholic Mentee. He has dedicated himself to learning, absorbing knowledge, and living out the teachings of his faith. Thanks to a special agreement with the Holy Spirit, he has committed to sharing his wisdom with others.
Keith Lilek’s Mentored for Good has many elements that make it a great read. There is peace, from the stories to the sonnets and, finally, the reflections. I know for myself the sonnets were well-written and had so much depth. The reflection questions are great for personal reflection or going over with family, friends, or a book club.
As a Catholic author, Keith firmly believes that becoming a Catholic Mentee has been the key ingredient to his success. He rarely hesitated to seek guidance from those who had achieved greater accomplishments in the areas he was focusing on. By surrounding himself with individuals who excelled in various fields, he was able to benefit from their wisdom and blessings.
This collection of writings are universally proven biblical lessons shared as books, audio, and musical stories to lift your spirits and help you confidently lead your family in faith. They incorporate the Ten Commandments into my daily life. This book is like a mini-retreat to review how to look at life and live your best self from a man who did.
It's such a blessing and honor to us and Laina that you are sharing her story and her love for Christ to others. May God also continue to bless you and your writing and prose talents.
