I chose "My Grieving Hand" for a loss that I know is coming. When Keith Lilek says "Grieving is unique to each person and situation", I know that will be the case for me. Keith goes through the stages we all will experience. His book gave me insights of what to expect and how to relate to others in my situation. I recommend his book and will hold it close when my time of loss finally comes.

When I saw he wrote sonnets, I wanted to jump ship…I HATED Shakespeare and his sonnets. I stuck with it. Now I can say I no longer hate sonnets! His writing style is unique and engaging. The wisdom in this volume feels like it could be a book by John Maxwell, Matthew Kelly, or Patrick Lencioni, but with a few sonnets to convey the message or highlight it differently, it feels a little more like Dan Millman or Robin Sharma. All that is to say, it is wisdom earned by experience and shared with the best of the other at heart. And for a book about being a mentee or mentor, that is the highest praise I can give it. I can easily recommend it.

Keith Lilek’s Mentored for Good has many elements that make it a great read. There is peace, from the stories to the sonnets and, finally, the reflections. I know for myself the sonnets were well-written and had so much depth. The reflection questions are great for personal reflection or going over with family, friends, or a book club.
